The First Frame and Stretched Monk's Cloth

I ordered a piece of monk's cloth late last year. It was also very hard to find in stock anywhere. I could find smaller pieces but that doesn't really help. I folded the piece in half and cut into two pieces so that's how we decided on the first frame's size.  Note: I sewed a zigzag stitch around the perimeter of the monk's cloth to stop it from fraying.  The dimension of the first frame is 31 X 35". To that we attached 4 pieces of carpet tack strip.  The above picture is the frame before the carpet tack strips were added. The overhanging piece is where I will clamp the frame to a bench to work on it.  I didn't get a picture of the frame before I added the cloth. Oops. This is the backside. This is where the tufts of yarn will be visible.  This is the side I will work on. Any words will need to be drawn on backwards so they appear the correct way when viewed from the other side.  The cloth is pulled tight and held in place with these carpet tack strips.  Ne
